From PAC National:
Donald Trump, Republican candidate for the President of the United States, spoke to the Polish-American Congress, representatives of 10 million Polish Americans, on 28 September in Chicago.
Mr. Trump’s powerful speech focused on the security of Poland. He said:
“I pledge to you that the Trump administration will be a true, true friend to Poland and to all Polish Americans”
“As president, I will honor Poland’s sacrifices for freedom.
We’re committed to a strong Poland, very committed, totally committed, and a strong Eastern Europe, as a bulwark for security and liberty. “
Regarding the security of Europe, Trump stated that:
“Poland is one of only five NATO nations, countries, that’s actually paying two percent of GDP to provide for their defense.” Trump stressed that “we want NATO to be strong, which means we want more countries to follow the example of Poland.”
He added that “if every country in NATO made the same contributions as Poland, all of our allies would be more secure and people would feel better even better about NATO.”
He promised that,” we’ll work with Poland on strengthening NATO when I am President. We will strengthen NATO”
Implying the damage of Yalta, Reset, and other appeasement policies that sacrificed Poland to Russia, he added “and I will tell you, I will never let you down.”
Trump praised the Polish Government for sensible policies with regard to refugees from the Middle East. He noted that the Polish Government does not look at the “refugee issue” in a vacuum but sees it from the perspective of an uncontrolled deluge of refugees to Europe and of terror attacks.
